A New Look for a New Year

About Me

A New Look for a New Year

Seven months ago, my sister married the love of her life in an intimate, church ceremony. I was so excited when she asked me to be the matron of honor at her wedding. Because I wanted to wear my hair in an elegant French twist at the wedding, I didn’t cut it during the first half of last year. After the wedding, I planned to cut my hair in my usual bob style. However, after receiving many compliments for my longer hair, I decided to let it continue to grow out. I’m not sure what I want to do with my hair for the New Year. However, I know I want to continue experimenting with new, exciting looks. On this blog, I hope you will discover the best hair trends for the upcoming year. Enjoy!

Tips For Permanent Facial Hair Removal

If you have hair on your face that you are embarrassed about and you're tired of trying temporary hair removal options, then you might be considering permanent facial hair removal. Here are some tips for getting rid of the hair on your face permanently.

1. Think About if a Reduction is Acceptable

There are two main ways that you can ensure that the hair growth on your face is reduced as much as possible. The first is laser hair removal, which will reduce the vast majority of the hair that grows on your face but may not eliminate it entirely. If this is acceptable, then you should go with laser hair removal. If you want the hair gone because you never want to pick up a razor again, then you should consider going with electrolysis. This is a more painful process and a more expensive process, but it will allow you to remove your hair completely.

2. Think About Your Time Commitment

It can take a few days for your hair to stop falling out with regards to both electrolysis and laser hair removal. This is very normal. However, laser hair removal tends to fall out a lot more quickly, which makes it the more gratifying choice for most people. Electrolysis can remove hair more thoroughly, but it takes a much longer amount of time for it to work to the degree that you might want it to. Laser hair removal also tends to take fewer sessions, whereas electrolysis will take many, many sessions.

3. Think About Your Metabolism

If you have a high level of muscle mass, then there is a good chance that you will need to have your laser hair treatment redone once a year or once every year and a half. The reason for this is that your metabolism is going to be higher than that of a regular person, and that revved metabolism is going to cause your hair follicles to recover at a much faster rate. Be sure that you budget some money each year for a touch up session or two if you have a fast metabolism.

4. Don't Suffer for No Reason

Do things to make sure that your skin stays cool during laser hair treatment or electrolysis. Apply aloe vera before and after the treatment. Find a facility that will apply cooling gel automatically before the laser passes over your skin. Do what you need to do to make getting your unwanted hair removed less painful.
