A New Look for a New Year

About Me

A New Look for a New Year

Seven months ago, my sister married the love of her life in an intimate, church ceremony. I was so excited when she asked me to be the matron of honor at her wedding. Because I wanted to wear my hair in an elegant French twist at the wedding, I didn’t cut it during the first half of last year. After the wedding, I planned to cut my hair in my usual bob style. However, after receiving many compliments for my longer hair, I decided to let it continue to grow out. I’m not sure what I want to do with my hair for the New Year. However, I know I want to continue experimenting with new, exciting looks. On this blog, I hope you will discover the best hair trends for the upcoming year. Enjoy!

What To Do After A Microneedling Appointment

Microneedling is a skin treatment that is becoming increasingly popular. The treatment involves creating tiny skin punctures. This promotes collagen production and improves the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, scars, and other skin concerns.

After a microneedling appointment, it is important to take care of your skin. These tips will help you care for your skin after a microneedling session.

Don't Apply Moisturizer Right Away

It is important to let your skin breathe after a microneedling treatment. You can begin to use moisturizer hours after treatment, but you might want to start with a light layer.

You can talk to your provider to learn more about the best time to use moisturizer. Some providers may recommend that you wait until the next day to apply moisturizer.

Do Not Pick or Scratch at Your Skin

Picking or scratching at your skin can cause irritation, redness, and even scarring. It is important to leave your skin alone to heal. This means you should avoid touching acne and other blemishes that appear.

Keep Your Skin Clean

It is important to keep your skin clean after microneedling. You should wash your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser. Avoid using hard scrubbing motions when cleansing your skin, and don't use a harsh cleanser.

Additionally, you should also avoid using makeup for a day or two. If you do decide to wear makeup, be sure to use products that are noncomedogenic and oil-free.

Stay Out of the Sun

After microneedling, your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. You should avoid direct sunlight for at least a day after treatment. If you must be in the sun, wear sunscreen with a high SPF. You can throw on a hat for further protection.

You should also avoid tanning beds, steam rooms, and other hot environments. These can cause irritation and make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

Take a Few Hours to Rest

While microneedling is not an intensive procedure, you probably don't want to go back to work or school right after treatment. It is best to take a few hours to rest. This will give your skin time to recover and begin the healing process.

You can also take this opportunity to relax. Your skin may be red as it enters the healing phase, and you may not want to return to a professional setting.

Talk to Your Microneedling Provider

If you have any questions or concerns about your skin after microneedling, be sure to talk to your provider. They can help you determine if your skin is reacting normally or if you need to take any extra steps to care for your skin.
